Football star Cristiano Ronaldo is definitely having a ball of time these days. Portugal's favorite son who was born on the Portugese island of Madeira has been honoured with a statue, a museum and now an aiport too. The Madeira International Aiport was recently renamed in honour of their favorite son. The announcement was made by Miguel Albuquerque, president of the Regional Government of Madeira, following a government meeting late last week.
And the star who returned to Funchal, the capital of Madeira recently has also opened a new five star hotel called Hotel Pestana CR7 (CR = Cristiano Ronaldo, 7 is his jersey number).
The 48-key Pestana CR7 Funchal is steps away from the CR7 Museum; has 48 rooms priced at £180-a-night and one CR7 suite which costs £575-a-night and comes with cardio workout gear, yoga maps and incluses the use of a PS4. Ronaldo’s signature fragrance and soccer-themed art are in every room, and his mottos, such as “work hard, play harder” and “to be the best, you need the best” adorn the walls. The highlight, though, is the ‘Get in Shape’ programme, a functional workout designed by Ronaldo himself that will be conducted at an open-air gym.Don’t forget to pack your running shoes, preferably a pair of Nike CR7 sneakers.
The other three hotels are coming up in Lisbon, Madrid and New York.
