It appears only befitting that Goa, known once as the 'Rome of the East' hosts this extremely interesting exhibition 'Christus' a solo exhibition by Alex Rodrigues. Alex is known for using his fingers to draw instead of any other painting implement. His two unique signature styles, 'finger painting' and using finger nails to create 'embossed and engraved' art is what makes his art stand out from the rest. Alex's art has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions across the country and the world. The exhibition 'Christus' will be open for public viewing from March 4 to March 13 at Carpe Diem art gallery in Majorda.
Alex recalls how he used to scribble all over the walls of his home as a toddler. Thanks to his parents who never yelled at him but encouraged him to follow his love for art, Alex went on to create some of the most fascinating pieces of art. Alex recalls that at every stage of his life it was his siblings and parents who encouraged him to develop his art and perfect it. Alex had no formal training but instead built on the talent which he believes is a gift of God to him.
Today Alex is an accomplished artist with a special affinity to the Christian art form.
Alex works on canvas and wood as a medium which is what makes his style of art even more fascinating.
