Fashionistas, it's time to get your much needed dose of style inspiration. So get ready to be blown away by some of the best of fashions as the Como India Beach Fashion Week is back for it's fifth edition. The eclectic and glamorous event will be held from October 26 to 28 at the scenic Goa Marriot Resort and Spa, Miramar and will feature an impressive line up of designers like Vikram Phadnis, Anand Kabra, Pallavi Jaikishan and Rocky S to name a few.

Anand Kabra, known for his ethnic Hyderabad influenced couture will open the fifth season. A master at fusing the ethnic with the contemporary, Anand Kabra's vintage prints and embroidered patches showcased in splendid contemporary cuts and styles, are one of this season's most awaited highlights.
On the other hand, Pallavi Jaikishen, the dame of the Indian bridal wear scene, is all set to showcase a lighter resort wear collection titled ‘Pristene'. The collection is a knot in the direction of destination weddings, where the themes are varied and fun.
An exciting addition, Love Gen, the refreshing new label by Bhavna Pandey, Nandita Mahtani and Dolly Sidhwani, is set to stun both buyers and fashion aficionados alike. Love Gen promises to blow you away. In pop colors ranging from vibrant yellow to bright pinks, this trendy and chic collection is designed for comfort, in fabrics that breathe. Take your pick from cottons, jersey, viscose and knits. There's more, with a cadet inspired line set to be a rage and the party line, with everything from drop shoulder and lace to flared trousers and fringed jackets.
Nidhi Munim will take you on a journey of soft hues, with her Grecian inspired line in soft drapes in colors of olive, white, sand and rose, with a dash of Ikat as well with her cruise wear and swimwear collections
Bringing a fairytale touch to the event, Shazia Naik's collection ‘Dark Romance' will depict the myriad emotions in the tale The Beauty and the Beast through a visual colour story using fabrics like dupion silk and santoon lining.
Karishma Mehta's collection ‘Serene' on the other hand is inspired by the modern woman. Her destination bride collection will showcase various designs for the vride and the bridal entourage. The bold cuts and usage of soft and bold colors speak strongly of the inner strength of a woman. The light weight of the garments and light sequins work are great to carry off and still look fashionable at the perfect destination wedding.
Many exciting fashion collections from talented designers will lead to the much anticipated finale, with Vikram Phadnis taking center stage. His collection, in blues and greens, with embroidery in zardozi, kundan and pearl, which are his signature, is slated to be the glamorous finishing touch to the Como India Beach Fashion Week. A veteran, his flawless mastery is a given with this much anticipated jewel toned extravaganza.
For Goan fashion lovers, the MapxencaRS will be unveiling their first ever prêt line with ‘An Autumn in Japan, a season depicting the exquisite natural beauty of Japan. The line emphasis on Japanese origami, texture and fabric manipulations. The colors include deep greens, ochres, hues of brown and ox reds. The fabrics are pure chiffons, georgettes and satin silks.
In addition to all this, the IBFW will also witness the launch of a designer collective COMO which will open it's doors in November with a debut store in Campal, Panaji.
"COMO will showcase the latest in swim, resort, cocktail and luxury pret collections from designers across the globe, symbolizing the spirit of edgy and stylish men and women. COMO presents Collective will be a powerful show depicting the core ideology of COMO with the showcasing designers at India Beach Fashion Week - Season 5," says Amit Bakhale, co-founder, COMO Designers Collective.
Corona Sundowners with world class DJs and an art lounge as well as pop up stores for shopaholics are the other attractions for those who are looking forward to heading over for the fashion event.
