Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Staff Welfare Association organized a function at Paryatan Bhavan to felicitate children of GTDC employees who excelled in examinations conducted by Goa University and Goa Board (HSSC and SSC) for the academic year 2017-18. The Staff Welfare Association also felicitated Dilip Shetye, Nazareth Rodrigues and Farida Banu, staff of GTDC who superannuated from service last month.
The function was presided over by Nilesh Cabral, chairman of GTDC, Nikhil Desai, managing director of GTDC, Laxmikant Vaigankar, general manager, GTDC and president of the Staff Welfare Association, Deepak Narvekar, PRO and secretary, Staff Welfare Association, Thelma Moses, vice-president, Staff Welfare Association, Ninfa Silva, Treasurer, Staff Welfare Association and Anil Dalal, member of SWA.
Meritorious students were felicitated with medals and awards by the chairman of GTDC, Nilesh Cabral.
On felicitating the meritorious students, Nilesh Cabral said “it is a proud moment for the GTDC to see the wards of its employees achieving academic excellence. Children are the future and nurturing them with good education and seeing them excel is a dream of every parent. On behalf of GTDC, I congratulate the parents and their children for their good performance in the academic year 2017-18 and wish them the very best and success in their future endeavours.”
Honesty Appreciation awards were also presented to three staff members of GTDC and Cabral congratulated and applauded them for the same stating that their good deeds will go a long way in giving a good name to Brand GTDC.
Deepak Narvekar, senior manager (public relations) and secretary, Staff Welfare Association highlighted the activities of the association and compèred the function. Gavin Dias, GM “ GTDC also spoke on the occasion. Thelma Moses, vice-president - SWA and Ninfa Silva, treasurer - SWA co-ordinated the felicitation programme.
The meritorious students of GTDC employees who were felicitated were Deep Naik, Kenisha Angelic Joao, Sarvesh Satoskar, Alonza Abish Souza, Sarvesh Gajanand Chari, Adhiraj Gawas, Shrutika Naik, Akshata Senai Desai, Soumetra Gawas, Babita Konekar, Diksha Dessai and Zenelyn Afonso.
