Captured by : pick 2

In the mood to catch a quick movie but looking for a different kind of setting rather than the same old boring movie theatre experience? Sunaparanta-Goa Centre for the Arts, Altinho is organising its weekly film screening hosted by Sachin Chatte on June 15.

On the list for this week is the Italian movie 'L'Aveventura' directed by Michelangelo Antonioni. The nearly two and half hour movie with an ensemble featuring Gabriele Ferzetti, Monica Vitti and Lea Massari which was made in 1960 will include English subtitles. It is the first in a trilogy. The films 'La Notte' and 'L'Eclisse' followed this movie.

Developed from a story by Antonioni, 'L'Aveventura' tells the tale about a young woman's (Anna) disappearance during a Mediterranean boating trip. Her lover Sandro and her best friend Claudia, during the subsequent search for her, become attracted to each other.

When they get back to land, they continue the search with no success. Sandro and Claudia proceed to become lovers, and all but forget about the missing Anna. The film was nominated for numerous awards and was awarded the Jury Prize at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival.
