Go Karting

Go Karting
Captured by : pick of the day 1

The roads along coastal Goa can get heavy with traffic during the weekends, especially during this time of the year, with the tourism season still going strong. But if you really want to unleash your driving skills, here are a couple of safe places where you can!

Go-Karting can be fun and a great way to get your adrenalin racing in a relatively controlled environment. For some, it’s a hobby, for some a passion and for some it can be a simply great way to unwind.

There are two popular go-karting arenas in Goa conveniently divided between the northern and southern parts of the state.

The Go Karting track at South Goa’s Nuvem village, located a short distance north of Margao town, has been carved into a hillside along the National Highway 17. The nearest landmark is the Padre Conceicao college of Engineering along the highway which you cannot miss. The track is nearly 500 mts long and can challenge ones Go Karting skills given its twists and turns of various grades of difficulties. The best you can rev your engine here, is up to around 70 kms per hour.

So what are you waiting for? Drive down there and burn some rubber and hopefully make sure you don’t bump into any of the barricades, which are in place to prevent mishaps.

The other track is located near the popular Saturday Night Market at Arpora in North Goa. It is slightly smaller in proportion to the one at Nuvem, but can work out as a good afternoon outing, before you let your hair loose in the fun-filled adjoining Saturday night market.
