Kornelia Santoro has something cooking. The author who has two Gourmand World Cookbook Awards to her name, is all set to come out with yet another book called Cooking for Happiness which focuses on how to influence mood with food.
“I believe that food can be a gate to heaven or a way to hell. It all depends on you -how you deal with food and what you allow into your body,” she states. The book will detail her long struggle with overcoming eating disorders and finding a balanced relationship with food and also the imact that neurotransmitters have on our feelings. She has provided recipes that aim to replenish neurotransmitter-levels in the brain. The second part of her book is dedicated to comfort food.
Recipes in this part of the book deal with chocolate, bacon and crispy fried potatoes and deliver such favourites as lasagne, cheesecake and profiteroles. Most of the recipes are easy to prepare and Kornelia has also provided helpful tips when necessary including saving a split chocolate ganache. The book that has been the fruit of three years of research and has been published by HarperCollins, will be launched on September 9, 6.30 pm at Sunaparanta, - Goa Centre for the Arts, Panaji.
On the occasion, Aakritee Bhandari Sinh, owner of A Reverie, and Odette Mascarenhas, food writer will talk with Kornelia Santoro about their relationship with food.
