Trolls is the kind of movie that will give you an instant dose of happy medicine and have you wanting to sing and dance all over the place not caring a bit that onlookers may think you have gone to loonie town.
Imagine the most colourful sparkly scene you can conjure up with flashy lights and glitter all around. That's the kind of picture you are greeted to as the film begins. Indeed, the film tells the tale of a magical tribe called Trolls who are the happiest little beings ever who love doing things like singing, hugging, scrap booking and more singing all day long. They even poop cupcakes!Their lives are all about having a jolly good time and boy do they have the trippiest parties ever!
However one day they are discovered a grumpy tribe called the Bergens who never seem to be happy at all until, they realise they gobble down a troll. With their lives in danger, their King Peppy manages to relocate them to a new location far away from the greedy Bergens. However, the silly little people make no efforts to keep their hidden spot with their loud parties. Twenty years down the line, the kingdom is now under the leadership of the king's daughter Poppy ( Anna Kendrick) who doesn't pay much heed to Troll Branch's (Justin Timberlake) repeated warnings of keeping the volume down. And lo and behold, they are discovered by the old chef of the Bergen kingdom who picks up a few of them to take to the Bergen kingdom. Will Poppy be able to rescue the captured trolls? Will Branch help her? And why is Branch unlike any other of the happy trolls and always more serious?
As is obvious the message of the movie is all about the importance of being cheerful and having a postive outlook to life. And the great tracks in the film only add to the happy feeling with Get Back Again and True Colours sung by Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick being the best of the lot. One thing's for sure, the film will definitely have you walking out of the theatre with a smile of your face.
