Don Bosco College, Panaji recently hosted the third edition of the Don Bosco Youth Film Festival of India (DBYFFI).The festival showcased 34 short films from countries like the US, Australia, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Singapore, South Africa, France, Germany, Malaysia, UAE and India.
The chief guest for the occasion was Miransha Naik, director, Juze. The films screened had a wide variety of themes like importance of hard work, determination, taking care of nature, mental health, procrastination etc. The various genres were drama, animation, inspirational, comedy, bio-drama, animation and biopic animation. Titles like Class of Rowdies, which focuses on the plight of a young teacher who meets a class of rowdy students or The Right Decision’, a film that stresses on the values of education and hard work, featured among titles like, Thank You Teacher, Teenage Love, Study Hard, A Cup of Positivity and Happiness. The film screening was followed by a discussion. The audience comprised students from schools and colleges, teachers and members of the public. Also present on the occasion were Fr. Savio Gomes, Rector, Fr. Wilfred Fernandes, Manager and Cedric Silveira, Principal.
DBYFFI is organized by all India Don Bosco institutions together with Don Bosco Communications, South Asia, networking with the social communication delegates of the different provinces of India.
