We've all gone through the grind of cursive writing in school, where our teachers in utmost sincerity tried to drill in us, the importance of good legible handwriting. Calligraphy as an art which is several
notches higher. It is a visual art related to writing. It is the design and execution of lettering with a broad tip instrument, pen or brush among other writing instruments. A contemporary calligraphic
practice can be defined as, "the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious, and skillful manner. There are some who even make a decent living out of decorative or handwriting by offering
their skill for hire when it comes to writing invites or or penning down text on honorary scrolls presented to dignitaries.
For those interested in the skill, you can sign up for calligraphy classes for children which are being held in Goa. The calligraphy classes are being organised at the Blue Lemon at Colva in South Goa.The classes begin from April 7 to April 30 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and registration for the same is now open.
