There is way too much focus on women’s fashion. But most of us women agree that the gender that truly needs the style help is men. Let’s face it the t-shirt with quotes that you think is oh-so-hilarious, usually is not that funny, and all it really tells us is that the wearer is immature. Cartoon characters can be cute, but usually not on a guy who's past puberty. When you invest in cheaply printed shorts and funky t-shirts but avoid the classics for the fear of a price tag, it is a tendency to be penny wise and pound foolish. Invest in classic pieces that will be stylish for years.

Classic white oxford shirt

Timeless, classic and versatile! Whether you have a wedding, a barbeque or a court appearance, there will always be a time you need one. The ultimate shirt for both casual and formal looks, and with such a variety of colours and fabrics, you’ll always find the best oxford shirt to suit your style. It’s perfect for all kinds of weather due to its versatility. Wear it buttoned up for a sleeker, alternative edge, or undone for a more laid-back look. You can also achieve different looks depending on how you roll up the sleeves, easy ways to add an alternative twist to it with accessories, jackets and trousers.

Navy suit

The signature masculine colour that works with a range of shirt and tie colours, not to mention black or brown (or tan or burgundy or camel) shoes and belts. The right navy suit can work for a whole range of occasions from dressy to informal. Blues by their nature connote knowledge, trust and responsibility. They have a tranquil, peaceful, effect on how people perceive you. It is easy to coordinate navy blue with other colours. By wearing navy blue you say to the world “I am confident and dependable.” This is the reason that the navy blue suit is used so often during interviews. So if you looking to win that interview, you know what to wear!

Dark blue denim

It's difficult to find a garment as widely embraced, worn and loved the world over as jeans. The classic symbol of the American West is now a staple in wardrobes around the world. Why dark blue instead of any other hue of denim? Because it adds versatility to your wardrobe, able to be paired with a blazer or suit jacket and still look elegant, or dressed down with a pullover and check shirt yet looks chic. Washed or lighter denim is fine, it just usually screams, “I’m off to see a band”, which is not always the look you’re after.

Khaki pants

For when you’re over jeans, khakis are that semi-casual alternative that works with nearly anything else in your wardrobe, from collared shirt to polo and t-shirt. Khaki pants are available in a variety of shades and multiple styles. Though the original yellowish-brown is still the most common colour, khakis are also available in variations of that shade as well as browns, greys, and greens. Khakis are popular for those who wish to easily transition from work to a more casual atmosphere in the evening. Reliable clothing that will not go out of fashion quickly. Khakis can double as casual wear and business clothing, and can also be semi-formal. A pair of khakis would even be appropriate for light dinners and daytime social events.

Oxford lace-ups

Let’s start with arguably the most important investment of all: your shoes. It’s often said that the first time you meet someone, you’re judged on a number of factors “ with three of the main counts being your hair, handshake and footwear. This is why the oxford shoes are a must have. Yes, they’re traditional and yes, you can rock much more progressive forms of footwear these days but somewhere along the line, there will always be occasions where you can’t beat the formality of this style of shoe. They can really finish the overall look of your outfit. A black and a brown pair, please. It’s the sleek simplicity of detail which makes the oxford such a winner.

A reliable timepiece

You can spend a lot of money, you can spend a modest amount of money, but a masculine looking piece of wrist wear is highly recommended for completing your look. Nothing is more elegant than checking the time on a wristwatch, not staring idly at your phone.

The polo shirt

One of the most versatile shirts any man can own, the polo shirt is an ideal summer staple every gentleman should have at least a few of in his closet. From sporting attire to leisurewear, polo shirts can be paired with many wardrobe items such as shorts, jeans and khakis. An exceptionally flexible shirt, it is predominantly worn in the warmer summer months due to its short sleeves and breathability. Perfect for the preppy gentleman!

A man bag

If you still think a man’s bag is a purse, you’re sadly behind on the times. From Kanye West to David Beckham, men have been snapped sporting a handbag so it’s about time to embrace the convenient, stylish trend. Men’s accessories are an ever growing category and the range of rucksacks, satchels, document holders and the like continue to expand. Brown, tan and camel tones are usually the most reliable and manly when it comes to men’s accessories.

Belts

Wearing a belt is something most men are accustomed to. Even with 30 different belt models on display in your average retail store, most of these are useless to you. Belts and pants should match formality and belt and shoes should be of the same colour are the golden rules while selecting belts. Belt buckles aren’t the best place to show off your loyalty to a rock band or your sense of humour either, so kindly avoid them and do us all a favour!

Hopefully, this list helps you to dress chic and dashing for every occasion, be it your first date or interview. But don’t let the limited items mentioned here restrict you from exploring the other numerous possibilities. Experiment with sunglasses and scarves or hats and ties and dress tastefully. Dressing stylish is always a benefit and never a hindrance.

When bad is good!

Since its inception, Bollywood has been creating action flicks. While most audiences love action flicks that revolve around a hero, a villain and a victorious ending for the lead couple, some find it intriguing to watch when the tables turn on the hero.
