INTRO: A father is a special presence in any child's life: he supports, encourages, sacrifices and loves... unconditionally and with nary a complaint. Celebrated every year on the third Sunday of June, Father's Day provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this unique and important relationship in our lives. Whether its horsing around with their kids or teaching their teens to be self-sufficient, our youth talk about why their father's mean the world to them

Today, I am just 18 years old and my dad has taught me a lot of things that people at the age of 25 fail to understand. He has taught me what life is all about. He has showed me the way to achieve success. He has showed me the opportunities that exist in front of me. But at the same time he has left the decision up to me in terms of which path to choose. He is very confident that his efforts to make me a good human being will never go in vain. Seeing his confidence in me, I want to make him proud. I thank God everyday for giving me such a loving and caring father. He is my superhero.

Melissa Fernandes, 18, Aquem

I thank God for blessing me with such a super cool daddy. Thank you is a small thing to say for all the trouble you took, especially to bring up four daughters. You never said a no to any of our demands. I always wish for your good.

Siddhi Gangulikar, 19, Vasco

My dad is my king, he would do anything to make me happy because I am his princess. I love my dad a lot. He is the best dad in the world

Inoshka Fernandes, 19, Margao

My dad is my hero and every daughters first love. He is not only my father, his my good friend too, and I am blessed to have a father like him. He means the entire world to me and I am proud to be his little girl.

Hina Hazarat Bilal Qureshi, 20, Margao

My dad means everything to me. And I am willing to sacrifice anything for him. I love him very much.

Mansi shirodkar, 17, Margao

My father, like any other father, is a hero to me and my brother, but what makes him our beloved papa is that he is a soft spoken person and has always been our strength and supporter (with mama's help of course). Thanks dad for everything. You are to me what to earth is the sun.

Abigayle Gomes, 19, Nuvem

My father is my hero, my role model. I always tried to copy him any way I can. When I was a kid, he was the first one to hold my fingers and teach me to walk. He gave me confidence whenever I've failed. The moral values I carry today are only because of my father. Papa, you are the greatest dad in this universe. There are lots of things I always wanted to tell you, but I believe in doing and proving. Thank you for teaching me how to face this world. You are the best buddy and a great teacher, and whatever I am today or will be in future is all because of your hard work.

Imran Muzawar, 23, Curtorim

My dad is my world, my superhero, my first love and the man who will never hurt me. I love you dad. You are the best thing in my life.

Khatija Khan, 18, Margao

One of the greatest gifts I have been given by god, is my dad. I call him Abba and I love him with all my heart.

Rehab Shaikh, 16, Cansaulim

My dad is everything I can ever imagine to be. He is my pillar, the only man who hasn't broken my heart, kept me safe, stood beside me and always caught me before I fell. This Father's Day, I would love to tell him that he is no ordinary man. In fact he is my hero, my story-teller and the only one who holds my heart.

Brinelle Fernandes, 18, Margao

My dad means a lot to me. He is my biggest inspiration. He has always been there for me no matter what. His work ethic, determination and selflessness are just a few of the inseperable qualities he has. A daughter needs a dad to be the standard against which she will judge all men. My dad has sacrificed so much so that I can have the life I have today. I am honoured to call him my dad. He is my hero and I will always be his little girl. Thank you for making me laugh when I was sad, for being that shining light in my darkest night, for encouraging me to weave a new dream each morning, and for always being there for me in my sad days and also the happy ones! You are my Superman, Batman and Spiderman. You are my 'bestman'.

Anamika Dessai, 20, Navelim

My father is a real hero with a rockstar attitude. With his sense of humour and passion for music, he is always entertaining the entire family. When we were younger, my father used to play with me and my brothers in the yard. Usually my mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass, not raising grass." To which my dad would calmly reply, "Dear, we are raising boys". I have so many memories like this, but I am truly glad I got this opportunity today. Thanks dad for all that you've done for us.

Naqash Khan,19, Vasco

Every girl dreams about living the life of a princess. I have never dreamt of that because I have always been treated like a princess by my dad. There may be a thousand ways to say I love you, but for me there is just one way “ to love u unconditionally.
