B B Borkar’s poetry occupies an independent space in Marathi and Konkani literature. His poems on nature, love and spirituality have enriched the Marathi poetry immensely. Remembering this renowned Goan poet, Padma Shree awardee late BB Borkar, a poetry meet has been organised by his nephew Dr Ghanashyam Borkar and Tejashree Borkar Dikshit on November 30 at 5 pm at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji. On this occasion a book of poetry, ‘Kheliya’ penned by Dr Ghanashyam Borkar will be inaugurated.
This programme organised by ‘Srujan Samvad’ will be presided by social activist Ramkrishna Nayak, and the poet’s meet will have Prof Somnath Komarpant as chief guest and Madhav Borkar as speaker. After the book publication, Dr Ghanashyam and Tejashree Borkar Dikshit will present some of the most popular poems of late BB Borkar.
