As part of the three-day nationwide celebrations of the Income Tax Day on July 24, the ITD Goa began with blood donation drive on July 22 at Manipal Hospitals Goa, Dona Paula where officers in the IT department volunteered and donated blood. Albert Furtado, 29, a first time donor from Mapusa and Simran Jeet Singh, 26, a second time donor from Haryana expressed joy for being a part of the blood donors’ tribe. Beginning in the morning the blood donation campaign was throughout the day with school and college students participating in it, as well. Appealing to the people of Goa to come forward and donate blood, Dr Dhaval Fadadu, in-charge of the blood donation department stressed on the regular need to donate blood for those who require it in times of emergencies and crises. Deputy commissioner ITD, Dr Sandip Sathe appreciated the spirit of income tax officials to donate blood voluntarily.
