In order to commemorate the World Tourism Day, Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Curchorem hosted all Goa inter-collegiate and Higher Secondary bartenders competition, in association with Gilmore 18 Select recently. Hospitality industry is providing vast scope of employment for the youth today and Bartending is one such area for excellence.
The event was presided by Fr Mateus Fernandes, provincial superior of Goa and chairman of Xaverian Education Society, Goa. The chief guest for this event was Jaspreet Singh, general manager of Azaya Beach Resort, Goa and the guest of honor were Clive Almeida, brand manager for Adinco Distilleries.
Total of 12 institutions across Goa participated in this event among these there were 7 colleges and 5 Higher Secondary Schools. After an exciting mixology, it was time to announce the winners. Taking the prestigious first place by Sirus Lazar from host Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Curchorem, won himself the cash prize of Rs 5000 along with a complimentary two day Mixology Course at the European Bar Academy, Verna Goa and a complimentary Voucher by Grand Hyatt, Goa. The second place was bagged by Shawn Fernandes from Fr Agnel Vocational Training Institute, Verna and won for himself a cash prize of Rs. 3000 along with a certified course (Yellow Level) under the World Flair Association and a complimentary voucher from Hotel Club Mahindra Goa. The third place was won by Manju Munzawar, Mount Mary Higher Sec.school, Chinchinim was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 2000 along with a complimentary voucher by Zuri White Sands, Varca Goa. The fourth place was given to Shannon Sequiera, St Alex Higher Sec. School, Curtorim for Best Higher Secondary Cocktail and was awarded voucher at Hotel Club Mahindra, Varca. The fifth place was given to Damodar Higher Sec School, Gudi for Second Best Higher Secondary Cocktail and was awarded a voucher at Fisherman’s Wharf.
