It has taken Martin Scorsese a long time to make this movie, so we shall respect that and not be mean or sarcastic in this little preview. The movie is called Silence, and tells the story of two priests who journey to Japan in search of their mentor. This is set in the 17th Century, when Japan was a tumultuous place for Christian missionaries, who were subjected to torture. Converts were subjected to far worse.
Scorsese read the book, by the same name, when in Japan during the late 80s and was enthralled with the story ever since. Now he finally decided to make the movie, one that he has been obsessing about ever since he returned to America after that short break in Japan to meet Akira Kurosawa and act in one of his movie.
Silence stars Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver, better known as the last Spiderman and Kylo Ren (Star Wars). Liam Neeson also acts in the film, but it remains to be seen how large his role is. By the looks of it, this is going to be a film that focuses on the trials and obstacles faced by Garfield and Driver. Scorsese’s touch is evident and the soundtrack promises to be hair-raising.
