Goa and Macao share shared historical ties that spans over many years as both were former Portugese colonies. It is thus not uncommon to find remnants of this connection even today in Goa and with the aim of highlighting this Communicare Trust in collaboration with Instituto Internacional de Macao and sponsored by Gabinite de Apoiopao Ensino Superior, Macao recently organised a photo contest titled Viagem Oriental, Rediscovering Macao in Goa. Of the 100 entries that they received, 40 were recently displayed at Sunaparanta- Goa Centre for the Arts, Altinho. A book containing the images and featuring articles written by historian of Goan origin from Macao Maria Leao and historian and writer Maria de Lourdes Bravo da Costa Rodrigues was also launched at the event. The book will be distributed to all schools who teach Portuguese, the Panjim Library and Navelim library. The Photo exhibition will be travelling to Macau.
