For those with a literary bent, this weekend promises a treat in form of the Goa Art and Lit Festival (GALF), which is being hosted at the International Centre Goa, near the state capital.
The festival which began on December 10 and ends on December 13, hosts a galaxy of Indian and foreign writers with a focus on Bangladesh and Singapore. Some of the top names which are part of the event are Ramchandra Guha, Faisal Devji, Ranjit Hoskote, Raghu Karnad, Manohar Shetty, Keki N. Daruwala etc.
Dozens of writers and artistes from 12 countries have arrived into Goa for GALF, including some from Pakistan.
A delegation of Bangladeshi authors have also made their mark at this edition of GALF along with a diaspora of Goan writers from Europe and America.
The objective of the organisers of GALF is to develop Goa further as one of the unquestioned culture capitals of the world.
Started five years ago, GALF has grown in stature and significance as a festival of the arts for writers and artistes from the Indian sub-continent and beyond.
