Biopics inspire. While a lot of people meander through life happy with their ordinary lives, learning about those who wanted and pushed forward to achieve more in life and achieved just that, can often be a motivating force for many others. At the same time, these films also serve to celebrate and honour these personalities. While putting these stories on reel is not a new phenomenon, of late it sure has become a trend among many filmmakers. One of the biggest ones to hit the screens recently is MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which is said to have had the biggest opening by any Bollywood film till now. Apart from this, Bollywood has also given us biopics like Mary Kom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Neerja, Azhar, Sarabjit etc and there are plenty more in the pipeline like Dangal, Haseena and Rani Laxmibai.Hollywood is also all set to give us a lot to look forward to with films like Jackie, Birth of the Dragon and one on controversial artist Andy Warhol which will be played by actor Jared Leto
Not just that, debating on whose life story should hit the big screen next has come to occupy a major portion of news from the film world. One of the most talked about is one on tennis star Sania Mirza who is said to have stated that she wants Parineeti Chopra to essay her role if a biopic is made while badminton star Saina Nehwal would like Deepika Padukone to play her if a biopic ever happens.
So with biopics pretty much being the trend right now, we got a few youngsters to tell whose life story they would like to see play out on the big screen
I would like to see films about people who made a different in society. Like Nana Patekar for example who should be commended for his philanthropic work during the drought in Maharasthra.
