Ghost Rider
The premise of the film looks good: A man who has sold his soul to the devil in a weaker moment strives to right the wrongs in the society and punish evil spirits. Unfortunately, there were so many things wrong with the film, one does not know where to start. The film lacks coherent flow, and is ruined further by bad acting and terrible CGI effects. Ghost Rider was a both a box office and critical bomb, yet somehow garnered a sequel - the even lower rated Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance in 2012.The fact that an actor such as Nicolas Cage was featured in the lead role did not help salvage what was perhaps a sunken ship from the beginning of the journey. Critics said the original was an unholy mess. The action sequences, typically the saving grace of a poorly-reviewed comic book film, were also disappointing.
Catwoman
A complete waste of the talent of Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry. Berry herself recognizes this as a terrible film.The film received seven Golden Raspberry nominations in 2005, including Worst Supporting Actress (Sharon Stone), Worst Supporting Actor (Lambert Wilson) and Worst Screen Couple (Halle Berry and either Benjamin Bratt or Sharon Stone). It won in the categories of Worst Picture, Worst Actress (Halle Berry), Worst Director (Pitof), and Worst Screenplay. Berry arrived at the ceremony to accept her Razzie in person, with her Best Actress Oscar for Monster's Ball in hand, and said: "First of all, I want to thank Warner Brothers. Thank you for putting me in a piece of sh*t, god-awful movie... It was just what my career needed"
Daredevil
Storywise, the film ticks all the right boxes: A man blinded by an incident involving toxic waste, and lost his father because of the Mafia, turns vigilante for a locality incidentally called Hell's Kitchen. The movie however, turned out to be a deeply depressive phenomenon. Daredevil is the sort of visually lacking potboiler that makes you rue the day that comic-book franchises ever took over Hollywood. Further most, some critics even suspected that the film had copied some parts of Batman.
Elektra
A blind hired-assassin superhero finally finds compassion. With a Rotten Tomatoes score as low as 10 %, the film was panned by critics for being too self-serious and lacking things as simple as intelligent dialogue. It was an intensely boring spin-off of Daredevil, and the last female-lead superhero movie for over a decade. Elektra was a commercial and critical failure, grossing $56 million against a production budget of $43 million. It received generally negative reviews from critics, who found the script and storyline lacking, but many praised Garner's acting as well as the action sequences.
Green Lantern
Much before he abused us in the superhit film Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds made us all suffer in this absolutely trashy box office disaster. The film was both a critical and box-office disaster for its bizarre plot and terrible CG effects. Critics were wondering whether to class the film as serious or goofy. It squandered and impressive budget and completely disrespected decades of comics mythology which has well-developed characters. Reynolds said that filming Green Lantern itself was frustrating, "You really need a visionary behind a movie like that, but it was the classic studio story: "We have a poster, but we don't have a script or know what we want; let's start shooting!" The Deadpool film references Reynolds' time as Green Lantern in two scenes, the opening scene which features a picture of Green Lantern, and a later scene where his character (who has the ability to Break the fourth wall) insists that his suit be neither "green, or animated!"
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
So, you get a chance to explain the origins of one of the most loved supeheroes of all times, and you turn it into a total wreck. This impressive feat was achieved by director Gavin Hood with Wolverine. Writing about the film, critics said that the movie clumsily tries to explain the origins of Wolverine, which had wisely only ever been briefly referred to in the original X-Men saga. In doing so, it creates a fairly bland plot which is full of holes.
