The doctor's greatest prescription

Behind every prescription is a doctor who has spent years learning, endured sleepless nights on call, and lived through countless moments of putting another person's life before their own. Doctors often miss family celebrations, sacrifice precious hours of sleep, neglect their own physical and mental well-being, and set aside their social lives so that someone else's loved one can return home safely.

On this Doctors' Day, I pay tribute to the men and women who dedicate their lives to healing others with empathy, ethics, compassion, competence, and unwavering commitment.

"Healing begins with compassion, flourishes with trust, and succeeds when society stands beside its healers."

Medicine is not merely a profession—it is a calling. Every patient deserves the very best care, and every doctor deserves respect, trust, and the assurance of a safe workplace.

Sadly, violence against doctors has become an alarming reality. Abuse, intimidation, and assault do not just harm healthcare professionals; they weaken the very foundation of our healthcare system. A doctor working in fear cannot give their best. If we expect excellence in healthcare, we must also ensure dignity, safety, and mutual respect for those who devote their lives to caring for us.

This Doctors' Day, let us remember that while doctors care for our health, society has a responsibility to care for theirs. Together, we can build a healthcare system founded not only on science and skill, but also on trust, kindness, and humanity.

Happy Doctors' Day !!
