With the Supreme Court making it mandatory for the National Anthem to be played at the start of every film in movie theatres as a way of instilling a sense of committed patriotism and nationalism in citizens many people at first scoffed at the idea but with reports of people being branded as anti national and even being beaten up for not standing when it was played, people have begun to take it more seriously. However things got a little awkward during the screening of Dangal across theatres in India. The film has a scene where the national anthem is played after Geeta Phogt wins a gold in wrestling with people everywhere standing up for it while others a little confused about whether to do so or not. Twitterati had various opinions about this. While some seemed to think it was out of fear others feel that many stood out of real respect instead of compulsion in this scene.
