Rejecting claims by BJP State President Vinay Tendulkar that he had abused BJP President Amit Shah and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, former chief minister Laximkant Parsekar on Tuesday admitted being critical of Tendulkar and went to the extent of describing him as “inefficient and incompetent.”
Parsekar also demanded that Tendulkar step down as BJP state president for destroying the reputation of the party.
“I never spoke against Parrikar or Shah, but I did speak against Tendulkar and I stand by what I said,” said Parsekar challenging Tendulkar to make recordings of their conversation public.
“What I spoke is right and several BJP workers congratulated me for speaking out. Loyal BJP workers are angry and upset over recent developments and I only aired their feelings and anguish,” said Parsekar.
“What I have spoken… is exclusively against Tendulkar. As president of the party, he is inefficient and incompetent. He has betrayed his colleagues. Everyone knows his lies,” Parsekar claimed.
“He said one thing and Sopte is saying something different altogether. They should sit together and decide what is the truth and tell the people of Goa and the workers. They should not try to cheat others,” Parsekar added.
“He has spoiled the reputation of the party and he should resign and go home or go to Delhi,” he added.
Insisting that Tendulkar lied about statements being made about Parrikar and Shah, Parsekar added, “Parrikar is sick, how can I speak against him? I have never met the national president. Tendulkar fed Shah wrong information without intimating me.”
“I will not tolerate it. He has to apologise. He has to apologise for the decisions he has taken. He has to apologise before the entire karyakartas of Goa and vacate the post,” said Parsekar.
