Imagine Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and other girls in a movie called Girls Trip. Sounds raunchy but with the potential for rib-tickling disaster, right? Yeah, you guessed it. Four friends head to New Orleans for a night of debauchery. Starting with flashbacks of their graduation, then a wedding, to looking at baby clothes, the group realise they haven’t hung out in five years and chose to buckle down and do this trip where they plan on getting “white girl wasted” and other shenanigans.
Their adventure starts at the airport with one of them mistakenly spraying hand sanitizer in her mouth and then during the flight, does an impromptu stand up comedy much to the laughter of the fellow passengers. The group confront their past, enjoy a strip club, dance in the house of blues and capture the energy of Bourbon Street with their selfie stick. This looks to be one of those ‘leave you brain at home’ kind of movies, and we could do with a few of those judging by what’s happening elsewhere in the world. Bring it on!
