Kala Academy Goa and Spic Macay with the support of concert Norway and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Norway will be organising a workshop of Western Classical Music in Violin, Cello and Piano from December 4 to 8, 2.30 pm and 6.30 pm at the Black Box, Kala Academy, Panaji.
Renowned musicians from Norway namely Berit Cardas-Violin, Audun Sandvik- Cello, Kristian Ofstad Lindberg-Piano will be conducting the sessions in the workshops. Berit Cardas has been head of the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and a soloist with several Nordic orchestras. Her latest music project “Goosebumps” was her concept on the importance of teaching classical music to young audience. Audun Sandvik on the other hand is the principal cellist with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. His career as soloist and chamber music performer includes among others soloist- appearances with The Norwegian Radio Orchestra, The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Stuttgarter Chamber Orchestra and the professional Naval Orchestra, Sweden. Kristian Ofstad began making waves in his native Norway at a young age. In 1997 he won the Norwegian Young Pianist Competition and the following year represented Norway in the Eurovision Young Musicians competition in Vienna. He was selected for Rikskonsertene’s prestigious INTRO Classical programme in 2007-2009. Hallgeir Frydenlund will be the Producer/Project leader from Concerts Norway in this project.
