Living in a city, one often wakes up to sounds which have become synonymous with our urbane lives. Honking cars, blaring music, neighbourhood clatter can over a period of time get to you. And after a point, there is a distinct possibility that you may begin to chafe your connect with nature.

If you think you need a break from all of the above, here’s something you can do to make amends.

The Panjim City Tree Walk is an interesting and educative event which will help you spend some time walking among trees and helping you know more about the silent green sentinels in your very own neighbourhood.

The Panjim City Tree Walk will be conducted by Miguel Braganza of the Botanical Society of Goa on April 10 from 8 a.m. to 10 am. It will begin at Garcia de Orta (Municipal Garden) in Panaji at the gate opposite the Mr. Baker cafe.

Pre-registration for the event is compulsory. To register all you need to do is send an SMS or call Yogita Mehra via 99606-43245 or [email protected] to register. You can also contact Miguel Braganza via 98229-82676 or [email protected]. The walk is free for children under the age of 12 years and registration for others is Rs. 100 per person, but we are sure the experience you are bound to come back with you will be priceless.
