Saskia Laroo, celebrated Dutch trumpeter who has done Goa proud on so many occasions, was back in Goa for a performance recently. Along with well-known jazz singer and pianist Warren Byrd, Daneil Gueli on the bass and Sven Rozier on the drums, the evening was an eclectic mix of jazz, funk, rhythm and dance.
The Hindi version of theatre actor and director Afsar Hussain's play on mercy killing 'Mahaprasthan' presented by Rudreshwar Panaji was recently staged at Sanskruti Bhavan, Panaji. The play will now be representing Goa for the Rashtriya Hindi Natya Samaroh, a national level festival that plays a huge role in popularizing drama performances in the national language, being held in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh from October 13-24.
