This may sound strange, but true. NCP supremo Sharad Pawar’s plea to like-minded parties to join hands against the saffron brigade makes interesting reading. The NCP’s lone MLA Varca strongman Churchillbab Alemao is supporting the BJP-led government on “issues”. The Maratha strongman may have to grapple with the hot question of how can the NCP think of an alliance with like-minded parties when the party’s lone MLA is with the government. Take note, Pawar only spoke of an alliance, leaving the issue of seat-sharing to be decided just before the polls. Is he aware that Churchillbab has staked a claim on 20 Assembly seats? Only time will tell.
