Cong hopes on Rahul's visit to boost campaign

After Priyanka Gandhi, the Congress is anxiously looking forward to Rahul Gandhi hitting the campaign trail in party stronghold Salcete. With the Congress lacking a charismatic leader in its ranks, more so from the Catholic community, to woo the minorities on its side and keep the non-BJP parties at bay, party leaders in private hope that Rahul’s visit to Saxttidom on the last day of the campaign will give the much-needed boost and keep the party in good stead ahead of the polls.

The BJP is leaving no stone unturned to wrest the Margao and Fatorda seats in the ensuing polls. A day after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant tried to woo Madgavkars and Fatordekars with ministerial berths for Babu Ajgaonkar and Damu Naik, none other than BJP National leader J P Nadda descended on the battlefield in the commercial capital to drum up support for the party candidates. The party seemed to have set its eyes on Navelim too.
