Buoyed by the party’s impressive performance in the ZP poll in Varca, strongman Bab Churchill’s fiefdom, the Congress appears determined to consolidate the gains in Benaulim. Congress observer Sunil along with district Congress team headed by party chief Joebab Dias, Deepakbab Kharangate and Subhashbab Faldesai, besides Roylabai, descended on Benaulim earlier this week to enroll new members. Whether the Congress will align with the NCP in 2022 remains unknown, but the former is on the job to strengthen its base in Benaulim, once its stronghold. Any questions?
