The presence of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Amitbab Patkar at the Black Day programme organised by ST organisations at the Lohia Maidan coinciding with the death anniversary of the Manguesh-Dilip tribal duo, may raise many an eyebrow in political circles. For, the BJP had all along enjoyed support from the tribal community, especially in the hinterland talukas over the years. Amitbab may have been seen seated in the audience, but the voices of dissent emanating from the Lohia Maidan may ring alarm bells for the saffron brigade ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, more so with ST young leaders launching a movement for political reservations for the tribal community.
