Filipe Neri keeping his cards close to chest

Filipe Neri keeping his cards close to chest

Saxtti lone Minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues seemed keeping his cards close to his chest on the coming polls. When a couple of supporters called on him to extend New Year’s greetings, sources said Filipe Neribab preferred to maintain a wait and watch attitude. While contesting the polls on the BJP banner is out of question, Filipe Neribab is yet to make up his mind whether he would contest the polls on a party banner or throw his hat in the ring as an Independent. Is the Congress-turned-BJP MLA waiting for the Congress to decide on the Velim candidate before unveiling his plan. Wait and watch.

Concerns raised over Luizinho’s supporters

As Varca strongman Bab Churchill’s ladli daughter Valankabai kicked off her campaign for the Navelim seat on the TMC banner, questions are being asked in Navelim countryside whether supporters of Congress-turned-TMC leader, MP Luizinhbab Faleiro are working on the ground in support of Valankabai. Sources say Churchillbab’s ladli has been moving door-to-door with an army of workers, but one has still not seen many a prominent Luizinhbab’s worker actively working for Valankabai, leaving many an observer to wonder whether the MP’s workers have still not lost hopes of the ex-MLA contesting from Navelim.

Yuri-Joaquim duo unperturbed

Notwithstanding CM Pramodbab Sawant’s confidence in winning the Cuncolim seat, Congress candidate Yuri Alemao and father Joaquim seemed not unduly perturbed. If the BJP and CM is banking heavily on the strong Desai vote to win Cuncolim in the coming polls, the Yuri-Joaquim duo in private say they too have a presence amongst the 3,700-strong Desai vote. Will Joaquimbab’s work in Cuncolim during his stint as a Minister, when he provided jobs to the constituents, keep son Yuri in good stead. Only time will tell.

All eyes on TMC candidate in Fatorda

Who’s going to be the Trinamool Congress candidate in Fatorda to take on Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai in the ensuing polls? Well, this question seemed uppermost in the minds of Fatordekars as women power seemed driving the TMC in Fatorda. While Congress-turned-TMC leader Ethelbai Lobo has started her work in Fatorda more than a month ago, moving door-to-door, the entry of young city-based lawyer, Adv Seoulabai Vas has only thrown up a question or two who amongst the duo will turn out the TMC candidate in Fatorda. Wait and watch.

Who’s responsible for Moreno’s ghar wapsi?

Who’s responsible behind Morenobab Rebello’s ghar wapsi in the Congress at a time when a host of aspirants, including MP Francisbab Sardinha’s son Shalom had eyes on the Curtorim ticket? Well, the absence of top Congress leaders to welcome Morenobab into the party indeed left tongues wagging, whether the ghar wapsi did not go down well with the party leadership or whether the top leaders left the responsibility of doing the honours on the block to escape public backlash. By the way, Varca-based Nazariobab Pinto was a prominent face accompanying Morenobab since the time he quit the BJP and his induction into the Congress. Interesting, isn’t it?

CM optimistic of Lotus blooming in Cuncolim

Hazard a guess why Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant is optimistic of the Lotus blooming in Cuncolim in the ensuing polls? Well, one reason could be that Congress-turned-BJP MLA Clafaciobab Dias has decided to seek re-election on the Lotus symbol. Others may say CM’s sister is married in Cuncolim and his brother-in-law Videshbab Desai is a member of the Cuncolim Municipal Council. That’s, however, not the sole reason why the CM is optimistic over the BJP’s victory in Cuncolim.…
