Former GPCC chief Girishbab Chodankar has come under the scanner of the first-time party MLAs. Reason. They suspect that Girishbab is lobbying hard to make long-time colleague Sankalpbab Amonkar take over the reins of Opposition leader. The group seemed nothing personal against Sankalpbab. But, given that the Mormugao MLA is the deputy CLP leader, they feel the CLP post ought to go to a minority MLA to maintain the communal balance. They wonder whether the party leadership hasn’t yet learnt a lesson or two, more so sticking to the duo of Diggu-Girishbab as CLP and GPCC chief in the run up to the 2022 polls.
Renewed efforts on to woo 2 Cong MLAs
