Questions over tiatrists finding no place in Ravindra Bhavan panel

Strange it may seem, but true that the newly-constituted Ravindra Bhavan, Margao went without representation for tiatrists, more so when the institution is considered the Mecca of Tiatr? Is it because the ruling politicians from Margao and Fatorda were so anxious to stuff their cronies, they forgot to nominate tiatrists on the general council.  As many a question remains unanswered, wait and watch whether Art and Culture Minister Govindbab Gaude would shed light on the constitution of the Ravindra Bhavan panel? Or, will the Minister take the same old plea that constitution of the Ravindra Bhavan panel falls in the government’s domain.

Digambar, Damu have their way in nominations on Bhavan panel

A glance at the list of members on the newly-constituted Ravindra Bhavan, Margao panel shows that the Diggu-Damu duo had their way in nominating their men on the panel headed by Rajendrabab Talak. No doubt, Talak has his own identity, both as an artist and a filmmaker. Still, his appointment as Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan has left tongues wagging with sources reminding that Talak had headed the BJP’s campaign for the 2021 Margao civic polls as the convenor of Vibrant Margao. Take note, newly-appointed Ravindra Bhavan vice-chairman Manohar Borkar is BJP’s Fatorda Mandal President. It’s an open secret that most of the nominees owe their allegiance to the Diggu-Damu duo. Any takers?

Reginaldo wary of development claims by BJP workers in Curtorim

How does the BJP supporting partner, Independent MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco, grapple with the saffron surge in his fiefdom Curtorim, is a question doing the rounds in political circles? For, no week passes without the BJP workers holding an activity or other in Curtorim. That’s not all. Local BJP leaders do not stop claiming how the saffron brigade has carried out development works in the constituency in the last one year. Reginaldbab has been maintaining stoic silence over claims of development made by the local BJP workers. It isn’t clear whether he has taken up the matter with the saffron bosses. Wait and watch as Reginaldbab seemed content for the moment with the Chairmanship of the Goa Industrial Development Corporation.

AAP acknowledges MLA Venzy’s development works in Benaulim

Aam Aadmi Party Benaulim MLA Capt Venzybab Viegas should be certainly pleased with the party leadership. For, the leadership has not only acknowledged the Benaulim MLA’s work, but seemed to have drawn up plans to replicate the development ushered by Venzybab in Benaulim across Goa. In fact, party leader Valmikibab Naik recalled there was a time when AAP used to cite the Delhi model of development while seeking support from Goans. The time has now come, he says, to showcase Benaulim development elsewhere in the State. Any takers?

No CCTV footage, Chinchinim beef stall case poses challenge to cops

The South Goa police have a challenge of sort at hand. In the past, the police top brass had claimed to have resolved many a crime based on intelligence gathering via CCTV footage. The mischief played at a beef stall at Chinchinim village on Bakri Eid day by miscreants by destroying the meat with petrol and leaving the CCTV cameras damaged has posed a challenge to the men-in-uniform to zero in on the culprits. Is the men-in-uniform ready for the challenge and restore public confidence. Wait and watch.
