It was a week when three-time Congress MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco’s challenger Morenobab Rebello took up cudgels for the beleaguered farmers hit by the recent spell of rain. Morenobab not only flaunted his Krishi card to convey a message loud and clear to assert he too was a farmer, but disclosed plans to form a farmers’ club to give a platform to the farming community to express their grievances. Morenobab’s plan assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of the fact that rival Reginaldbab has been associated with the farmers over the years.
