When Vijai turned down study tour offer to Guj

Did the government expect Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai to give his accent to join a delegation of MLAs to Gujarat as part of the initiative to study good governance in the home State of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah? Vijaibab was quick to reject the offer, maintaining he refuses to be a party to pleasure trips at the expense of public exchequer. Many, however, might have expected the Goa Forward chief to take the saffron brigade head on, saying he is not at all keen to study the “Gujarat Model” when the regional party is espousing Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn. Any questions?

Sewerage: MLAs have task at hand to get households connected to line

Are Saxtti politicians, more so the two MLAs, Diggu and Vijaibab Sardesai, representing Margao and Fatorda respectively surprised that River Sal finds mention in the list of India’s polluting rivers? Raw sewage flowing into the river, considered Salcete’s lifeline, from the backyard of these two MLAs, is an open secret. Sewage works have been dragging on in Margao and Fatorda over the years, right under the nose of these two MLAs. Saxttikars do not expect the Diggu-Vijai duo to use the magic wand to stop the sewage flow overnight. The least they expect from the two MLAs is to get their constituents connect their premises to the underground line. Any takers?

Mystery over withdrawal of data entry operators’ recruitment letter

Mystery surrounds the letter purportedly written by an officer in the Department of Urban Development, withdrawing the approval to the Margao Municipal Council to recruit data entry operators on contract basis. For, the letter has neither been signed by the DMA Gurudasbab Pilarnekar nor by his Additional Director, but has been purportedly issued by a sub-ordinate officer. What’s interesting to know is that Urban Development Minister Vishwajitbab Rane is aware of the letter, but the moot question has remained unanswered “ why was the letter not signed by the DMA or by the Additional Director and why it has not reached the Margao civic body till date?

Sal pollution: Are Venzy, Cabral heading for yet another battle

Are Benaulim MLA Venzybab Viegas and PWD Minister Nileshbab Cabral heading for another round of battle over River Sal pollution? Well, a visibly agitated Venzybab has not only threatened to make the PWD Minister, who also holds the Environment Minister, stand in the court, but has vowed to put the Pollution Board Member Secretary Shamilabai in jail over Sal pollution by raw sewage. As expected, the no-nonsense Cabral preferred to rubbish Venzybab’s latest claim on raw sewage finding its way to river Sal from the Margao STP. Wait and watch.
