Emphasising the importance of welfare schemes reaching rural areas, Poriem MLA Deviya Rane called upon elected representatives of village bodies to ensure that these schemes reach the beneficiaries concerned.
She was addressing a function to distribute sanction letters for the Laadli Laxmi scheme to about 250 beneficiaries in Sattari. Elected representatives from the Valpoi Municipal Council and panchayats of Valpoi and Poriem constituencies were present on the occasion.
“There are many welfare schemes, but they should reach the rural areas. The sarpanchas and panchas must identify such beneficiaries and help them to benefit from various schemes,” said Rane.
“The development of every person with ensure the overall development of society. Many families in Sattari taluka have now benefited from this scheme. We appeal to everyone to submit proposals to benefit from this scheme and they will be approved.”
VMC Chairperson Sehzeen Sheikh said many people in Valpoi town have benefited due to the approval of the Laadli Lakshmi scheme.
Sanction letters for the Laadli Laxmi scheme were handed to beneficiaries from Valpoi town and the panchayats of Savarde, Nagargaon, Guleli, Khotoda and Usgaon in Valpoi constituency and the panchayats of Keri, Parye, Morle, Pissurle, Honda, Bhinroda, Mauxi and Thane in Poriem constituency.
