Will he or won’t he attend the Statehood Day function hosted by the party in the Capital City, was a question doing the rounds in Congress circles during the weekend. After having skipped many a party programme after losing the race for the post of Opposition leader, Diggu has come under the scanner of party rank and file. A senior Congress leader remarked that one should wait till Monday whether the Margao MLA will attend the Statehood programme before rushing to a conclusion over Diggu’s future in the party. Sources, meanwhile, informed that Diggu’s loyal soldiers again stayed away from the party programme organised by the South Goa District Committee earlier this week.
