After supporters’ nod, all eyes now on Kamat

Saxttidom was abuzz with speculations during the weekend how would former Chief Minister Diggu go about the decision taken by his ardent supporters, giving him the nod to take a call on his future political career. His diehard supporters have vowed to stand by him come what may and back whatever decision he takes on his future. Wait and watch how would Diggu go about in taking a decision. By the way, sources said Diggu, who was in Delhi, has reportedly headed to Indore in Madhya Pradesh, in connection with a programme connected to swimming.

GF jibe at Reginaldo to do ‘Kaam Ki Baat’

Independent MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco’s outbursts against the Margao Municipal Council on Sonsodo seemed to have not gone down well with leaders of Goa Forward party, controlling the civic body. Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai’s close aide Durgadasbab Kamat was quick in saying the Curtorim MLA should use his good office with the ruling dispensation instead of blaming MMC on Sonsodo. He went on to tweet that instead of watching Mann Ki Baat at Mahalaxmi-Altinho, the MLA should do Kaam Ki Baat with regards to Sonsodo. Any questions?

Will Lobo recover lost ground in Saxtti?

Has Opposition Leader Michaelbab Lobo any plan up his sleeve to recover the lost ground in party stronghold Saxtti? Or, will he bank on the newly-appointed young brigade, GPCC chief Amit Patkar and party working president Yuri Alemao to rebuild the party after the electoral reverses in the taluka. With senior leader Diggu and his supporters sulking over the way the former CM has been treated and sidelined post-result, questions are indeed being raised in Congress circles and outside who would shoulder the responsibility to gather the flock that went astray in 2022. Wait and watch.

Will Chintan Baithak introspect on poll debacle?

Even as one comes across renewed calls being made to find out the cause behind the Congress poll debacle, partymen wonder whether the failure to give adequate representation to the minority in key positions and frontal organisations cost the party dearly in 2022. Well, if sources are to be believed, despite pleas made in certain quarters, the party leadership preferred a status quo in respect of the GPCC and CLP leadership, throwing the time tested formulae of striking a communal balance to the winds. Sounds interesting, isn’t it? Will the Chintan Baithak introspect on this aspect? Only time will tell.

Benaulim MLA & cop Sachin Vaze episode

Who’s this cop “Sachin Vaze” at the Colva police station as claimed by newly-elected Aam Aadmi Party Benaulim MLA Venzybab Viegas? And, whether this cop is still attached to the Colva police station even after the MLA went public with his charge how this “Sachin Vaze” has been going about his job along Salcete’s coastal belt. Sources wondered whether Venzybab had taken up the matter with Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant, who also holds the Home portfolio. Transfers and postings of police officials and personnel are underway and the AAP MLA may certainly look forward to Pramodbab to shunt Sachin Vaze out of Colva. Any questions?

It was a week when Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant descended in Fatorda on a purely religious visit upon an invitation of party leader Damubab Naik. This is perhaps the first time the CM has visited Fatorda post-election results and comes against the backdrop of speculations that Fatorda MLA and Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai may not be averse in embracing the saffron brigade in the near future. Doubts were cast in the minds of the BJP cadre over these speculations.…
