Has Congress leader Rahul Gandhi any solution to end the tug of war amongst the warring factions to control the Goa Congress? Well, after he descended in Goa on a brief visit earlier this week, and after going into a huddle with top party leaders, sources say both GPCC chief Amitbab Patkar and his predecessor Girishbab Chodankar may be called to Delhi by the Party High Command. Sources said the High Command is apparently anxious that the warring factions work out a truce and unitedly gear up to strengthen the party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

When Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was on a private visit to Goa, the State Congress leadership made it sure that party workers are mobilised in strength to welcome him at the airport. While GPCC chief Amitbab Patkar and his team were prominently seen outside the airport, ex-PCC chief Girishbab Chodankar, was the cynosure of all eyes after he was spotted at the Dabolim airport. Girishbab, who reportedly shared close rapport with Rahul Gandhi during his stint as GPCC chief, exchanged pleasantries before walking with him for a brief moment. Any questions?

It was a week when a mysterious ‘Human Hand’ did the rounds in city circles after the decomposed hand of a human being was found at a residential colony at Fatorda. In neighbouring Margao, citizens wondered over a different hand, the ‘Hidden Hand’ that is believed to be controlling anything and everything, including the decision-making process, sans accountability or responsibility. It’s a strange coincidence that when the Goa Legislative Assembly is in session, the dens operating online casino gambling either go into a sleep mode or the activity takes place behind closed doors. It’s still unclear whether the casino operators’ suo moto shut down the illegal gambling dens or act as per the diktat of their patrons. Or, were the operators and their patrons so sure the issue would once again reverberate in the current Assembly session after the House witnessed a storm in the last session. Politics or football: Questions over Churchill’s Delhi visit
Even as Varca strongman Bab Churchill has returned from the national capital, political observers are trying to figure out whether the visit had anything to do with politics or football. Churchillbab is believed to have told his close aides that he was in Delhi in connection with football. Observers, however, say the visit assumes significance against the backdrop of the fact the Lok Sabha polls are less than a year away. A two-time former MP, Churchillbab had in the recent past predicted that the Lotus would bloom in Goa in the ensuing Lok Sabha seats. Post-Manipur violence, however, nothing much has been heard from Churchillbab on politics and elections? Any questions?
