Whether the Margao municipality is ruled by the Congress-Goa Forward Party or not is a subject of debate in the main opposition camp. One thing, however, is clear that a worried GPCC Chief Girishbab Chodankar does not want to lose any of the councillors aligned to the party just because Digambarbab and Vijaibab did not consider them for the MMC chief post. That explains Girishbab’s anxiety to reach out to an angry Damubab Shirodkar not only to ensure the councillor stays put in the party, but stop the saffron brigade from any poaching bid.
