Yuri Alemao’s joy knew no bounds when his panel made a clean sweep of the polls for the Cuncolim civic body. Rightly so, when he could not stop the saffron brigade from winning the Guirdolim ZP seat earlier this year. Yuri and father Joaquim, however, had another reason to celebrate the victory. That Yuri thundered outside the counting hall by saying the victory in Cuncolim was a tight slap on the faces of those who called them outsiders, indicates that he was patiently waiting for this day ahead of the 2022 electoral battle.
