Thakare’s accountability stance doesn’t sit well with a section

What message has Congress Goa desk in-charge, Manikrao Thakare tried to convey when he said the party would identify leaders, who did not work for the party in the recently-held Lok Sabha polls? For, Thakare’s statement has come against the backdrop of reports that certain leaders did not put their heart and soul in the party LS campaign. In fact, reports have been doing the rounds that certain leaders were hardly seen on the ground to organise the campaign. Thakare’s comments, however, sources said, has reportedly not gone down well with a section of Congress. Wait for June 4 for more details.

Venzy, AAP gear up for crucial Benaulim ZP by-poll battle

Aam Aadmi Party Benaulim MLA Venzybab Viegas must be gearing up for the battle to retain the Benaulim ZP seat going for the by-poll on June 23. For Venzybab in particular and AAP in general, the Benaulim seat had given the Arvind Kejriwal-led party a foothold in the State, before the party made it big in the 2022 Assembly polls by winning the two seats of Benaulim and Velim. While Venzybab may be banking on the network of AAP volunteers spread across Benaulim, the party hopes to capitalise on the induction of new members into the party-fold by the Benaulim MLA during the recently held Lok Sabha polls. Any questions?

Yuri ‘snubs’ cousin’s statement, meets with AAP on ZP by-poll

What has Opposition leader Yuribab Alemao got to say over cousin brother Warrenbab Alemao’s statement that the Congress should not have any alliance with Aam Aadmi Party for the Benaulim Zilla Panchayat by-poll? Well, even as Warrenbab had issued the statement not to have a truck with AAP for the ZP by-poll, the Congress leadership reportedly had a meeting with AAP leaders to discuss the Benaulim ZP seat. You can very well guess the outcome of the AAP-Congress meet in the light of Congress leader Manikrao Thakare’s statement in support of INDIA bloc in Goa. Any takers?

Low-key b’day celebrations for Dixon amid poll code

It was a week when Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixonbab Vaz celebrated his birthday with friends and well-wishers. Unlike last year, the birthday celebrations went without much fanfare in view of the election code of conduct still in force in the State. If sources are to be believed, a couple of local satraps of Benaulim constituency joined Dixonbab at the birthday celebrations. With Benaulim Zilla Panchayat polls scheduled on June 23, political observers have been trying to figure out the politicians who participated in Dixonbab’s birthday celebrations. Wait and watch.

Speculations rise as Luizinho says no plans for political comeback

Former Chief Minister Luizinhbab Faleiro’s statement that he has no plans to return back to active politics makes reading interesting. For, every time, the ex-Rajya Sabha MP goes to the town, asserting he is out of politics, his statement is not taken seriously in political circles, may be for the simple reason that Luizinhbab has still not announced his formal retirement from politics. On the contrary, many believe that it’s just a matter of months before Luizinhbab returns to active politics after penning a new book. Wait and watch.
