Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai was watching Clarkson’s Farm, a British Television documentary series, when newly-elected Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Michaelbab Lobo walked at his residence on Friday. The Dovondem bandh is now new for the new CLP leader as the duo shared a love-hate relationship over the years. Political observers are trying to find out whether the new CLP leader gave his piece of advise to the Goa Forward chief why he should not turn saffron. Wait and watch.
New Cong panel: GenNext & crorepatis
It’s a sheer coincidence that the young faces, including CLP leader Michaelbab Lobo, GPCC chief Amitbab Patkar and working President MLA Yuribab Alemao handpicked by the Party High Command are all generation next and crorepatis too, with their assets running into crores of rupees. Of the trio, both Michaelbab and Yuribab had emerged trumps in the just concluded Assembly polls. The trio has another similarity -- they have no long association with the Congress. Sounds interesting, isn’t it?
Patkar’s appointment still a talking point
Appointment of Amitbab Patkar as the new GPCC chief is still a subject matter of debate in Congress circles and outside. Many in the Congress as well as observers are trying to figure out how did Madam Sonia Gandhi zero in on Amitbab to head the Goa Congress. And, whether any of the State leaders or the party observers have a hidden hand in shortlisting Amitbab for the new job when many others, who had long association with the party, were ready to shoulder the responsibility? Any question?
When Reginaldo was nominated on PO panel
It was a week when reports that the nomination of Independent MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco on the panel of Presiding Officer left tongues wagging in Saxttidom and outside. Reason: observers wondered how come Reginaldbab’s name found a mention on the panel of Presiding Officers if he was due to be sworn in as a Minister in the Pramodbab Cabinet. Sound’s interesting, isn’t it? Reginaldbab was not available for comment. His close aides, however, said Bhivpachi Garaz Na. Wait and watch till next week for an answer.
All eyes on Vijai’s political future
Whether he would merge the regional party into the saffron brigade is indeed a subject matter of debate in Saxttidom. The Goa Forward chief, however, has every reason to feel happy with CM Pramodbab Sawant. The CM has promised to address Vijaibab’s demands, including Sonsodo, the western bypass et al. The long-pending bus stand for Margao is also on the Chief Minister’s agenda. Indeed a sheer coincidence that Vijaibab’s wishlist also finds mention on the CM’s priority list. Any takers?
