The Premier League Primary Stars in partnership with British Council will organise an introductory session for primary teachers and sports teachers to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills through a virtual session on August 10, from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Those interested need to register at https://bit.ly/PLPSAug22 as there are limited slots available. Details may be obtained from the Goa Football Association Secretariat in Panaji. The programme uses the Premier League and professional English football clubs to achieve its goals, to enable children to achieve success in everything from personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE) to team work and physical education (PE).
Custodio Memorial Trophy final postponed
The final of 49th Custodio Memorial inter-village football tournament organised by Raia Sporting Club between Chandor Club and Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club slated for Friday has been postponed.
The club said the reason for the postponement is the Goa Football Association's order into an appeal filed by Chandor. The executive committee of Raia Sporting Club met on August 3 and accepted the GFA order under protest.
"In the meeting, our members brought to our notice that they are getting threats from people, to the players of Chandor SC as well to all the members of the executive committee of Raia Sporting Club against Chandor SC playing in the final on August 5," said the secretary of Raia Sporting Club.
