Ambelim Sports Club produced champagne performance trouncing reigning champions Minerva Academy Football Club 8-2 to storm into the semifinals of the AIFF Futsal Club championship, at the Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, in the Vadodara district of Gujarat, on Wednesday.
The side from Goa were well in control of their faculties during the game, as they picked their moments to spring into quick attacks to perfection. Fredsan Marshall (6’, 34’) and Ronaldo Rosebud Pereira (28’, 29’) netted a brace each, while Clive Miranda (13’), Michael Benny Silva (17’), Lyndon Cardoso (30’), and Fraizer Xavier Cardoso (33’) scored a goal apiece for Ambelim. Samson Keishing (34’) and Thongkhongmayum Naoba (40’) scored the two goals for Minerva Academy.
Head coach Joao Rebello expressed his happiness after his side’s 8-2 in the Futsal Championship. “I am happy with the win and the result, we controlled the match completely and we were better than Minerva and it was possible to score many goals.”Rebello continued: “We scored 3 important points and played effectively against an excellent team. All our players were fully prepared and I am very happy for the club fans on the occasion of this victory. Everyone is looking to give their best. We are now in a good moment and we must take advantage of this in the semifinal,” explained Rebello after the match

Ambelim SC will now face Corbett FC in the first semi-final on July 5 with the kickoff slated for 4 pm IST.
