Bhatti United secured a thrilling 5-4 win via tie-breaker against Sinaibag SC to book their place in the semi-finals of the 5th Cumborda Sports Club Football Tournament, organised by Cumborda Sports Club at the St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
Sinaibag SC took an early lead in the 15th minute through Shubert Da Costa, who calmly slotted past the Bhatti keeper. Bhatti United nearly equalised soon after, but a powerful effort from Ralf was brilliantly denied by the Sinaibag goalkeeper.
Bhatti United piled on the pressure in the second half, creating several chances. Their persistence paid off in the 40th minute when Mackroy scored with a stunning long-range effort to level the match at 1-1 by full-time.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Mackroy, Aaron, Shelton, Nelroy, and Perry converted their penalties for Bhatti United, while Malcolm, Rayzel, Ray, and Anthony found the net for Sinaibag SC.
Despite the loss, Shubert Da Costa of Sinaibag SC was named Man of the Match for his impressive performance.
