The eighth edition of the popular Rotary Rain Run will take place at the Sports Authority of Goa’s (SAG) athletic stadium, Bambolim on Sunday, July 31. The event this year is being presented by the BNI Goa region. The run this year too is in aid of women’s health, education and early cancer detection and cure.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Porvorim (RCP), the event will see races in the 2km, 5km, 10km and 21km distances. The 10km and 21km half marathon will be timed events. Participants in the 5km, 10km and 21km races will get a medal, a tee shirt and breakfast, while the runners and walkers in the 2km run will get a medal and breakfast.

The 21km runners will begin their run at the SAG athletic stadium, opposite GMC at Bambolim and go up to the Miramar beach circle and return via the Goa University road. Runners in the other categories will run from the SAG athletic stadium, opposite GMC to specific points on the Goa University road and return to the start point.

Announcing this in a media release, Avinash Parmar, chairman, BNI Rotary Rain Run 2022, said that the RCP was extremely happy to get back to a physical event after the two-year pandemic. Parmar said that the registration for the RRR 2022 had already begun and he expected a good response from local runners, outstation runners, Services runners and armed forces personnel from the army and the navy posted in Goa.
