Rising star Neeza Kamat advanced to the finals in four categories -- Girls U-15, U-17, U-19, and Women’s singles, putting her in line for a rare quadruple crown, at the Ulhas Jewellers-BPS Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2024.
Ishita Colaco has also made headlines by reaching the finals in three categories -- Girls U-13, U-17, and Women’s singles, giving her a shot at a triple crown. Pradnya Caro has been the other standout player in the Girls' section, reaching finals in U-15 and U-19.
On a day of exhilarating matches, Ishita Colaco displayed her skill and determination by defeating Pradnya Caro 3-1 in the U-17 Girls semis, while Neeza Kamat secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Shreya Phadte in the other semis. The U-19 Girls semis saw Neeza Kamat continuing her dominant run with a 3-0 win against Urvi Surlakar and Pradnya Caro advancing to the finals with an impressive 3-0 victory over Riya Gopi.
The Women’s singles semifinals were equally thrilling, as Ishita Colaco once again proved her mettle by overcoming Pradnya Caro with a flawless 3-0 performance. Neeza Kamat mirrored this result, defeating Urvi Surlakar 3-0 to cement her place in the finals.
