FC Goa have signed defender Manushan Fernandes from Youth Club of Manora.
The Betalbaim-born footballer was part of the Manora team that played in the 2020-21 Goa Pro League season when the club replaced Corps of Signals, who withdrew from the Goan topflight.
A sturdy defender, Fernandes impressed with his desire to learn new ropes from Gaurs and gain valuable experience in the competitive Indian Super League.
Manushan started his career with Vasco Sports Cub in the youth team and later moved to Velsao Sports and Cultural Club, which earned promotion in the Goa Professional League. In the 2020-21 season, the youngster joined YC Manora.
He has represented Fr Agnel Higher Secondary School, Verna at under-17 All India Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament. He also donned the colours for Betalbatim Sporting Club in the GFA age-group tournaments. He also represented Corps of Signals.
FC Goa are preparing for the next season of the Indian Super League, which will be held in Goa inside a bio-secure bubble from November 19. The Gaurs will keep a close eye on Manushan's progress in the pre-season.
